Stuffed papaccelle is a typical Neapolitan dish, with an unmistakable flavor and a rich history. This special pepper, smaller and more rounded than the traditional ones, is the protagonist of this delicious recipe full of personality.
Ingredients:
Fresh papaccelle (about 10 units)
200g of ground beef
1 slice of bread soaked in water and squeezed
1 egg
Grated parmesan cheese
Salt and black pepper to taste
Chopped garlic
Chopped fresh basil
Extra virgin olive oil
Grated provolone or mozzarella cheese (for gratin)
Preparation:
Prepare the papaccelle: Wash the papaccelle well and remove the seeds. Cook them in boiling water for a few minutes, until they are soft but still firm. Drain and reserve.
Filling: In a bowl, mix the ground beef, squeezed bread, egg, parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, garlic and chopped basil. Mix well until you obtain a homogeneous filling.
