Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon butter, for greasing pan
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 ½ teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 1/4 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped
- 12 oz light beer, pilsner or lager
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with 1 tablespoon butter, then set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder. Add shredded cheese and chives and stir to combine.
- Pour the full beer over the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and drizzle melted butter over top.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow loaf to cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing.
