Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Heat the olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
Cook the chicken breasts for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until they’re golden brown. They don’t need to be cooked through at this point, just browned.
In a bowl, combine the heavy cream, grated Asiago cheese, and dried basil.
Pour the cream mixture over the chicken breasts in the skillet. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese on top.
Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce is bubbly and slightly golden.
Remove the skillet from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
Variations & Tips
For a little extra crunch, you can add a breadcrumb topping before baking. Simply mix some breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle over the chicken before placing it in the oven. You can also switch out the Asiago cheese for other flavorful cheeses like Gruyère or Fontina for a different twist. If you prefer a slightly healthier option, try substituting the heavy cream with half-and-half or Greek yogurt to reduce the fat content. This recipe is quite versatile and can easily be adapted to suit your taste!
