Strawberry Jam Panna Cotta

Panna Cotta is an Italian dessert that’s known for its rich, creamy texture. This variation incorporates a layer of homemade or store-bought strawberry jam on top, adding a fruity, sweet contrast to the creamy base. The result is a beautifully layered dessert that’s easy to make and sure to impress.

Ingredients
For the Panna Cotta:
2 cups heavy cream – The main base of the panna cotta for a rich, creamy texture.
1 cup whole milk – Adds a lighter texture and balances the richness of the cream.
1/2 cup granulated sugar – Sweetens the panna cotta.
2 teaspoons vanilla extract – Adds a lovely flavor that complements the creaminess.
2 1/2 teaspoons unflavored gelatin powder – Helps the panna cotta set properly.
3 tablespoons cold water – Used to dissolve the gelatin.
For the Strawberry Jam Topping:
1/2 cup strawberry jam – You can use store-bought or homemade jam (if you prefer homemade, make sure it’s smooth).
Fresh strawberries (optional) – For garnishing, adding a fresh touch to the dessert.

Instructions
1. Prepare the Gelatin:
In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over 3 tablespoons of cold water. Let it sit for about 5 minutes to bloom (the gelatin will absorb the water and become sponge-like).
2. Make the Panna Cotta:
In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, and granulated sugar. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves and the cream mixture is hot but not boiling. Remove from heat.
Add the bloomed gelatin to the hot cream mixture, stirring until the gelatin is completely dissolved.
Stir in the vanilla extract for flavor.
