Cheese Dip for Pretzels

This Cheese Dip for Pretzels is rich, creamy, and full of cheesy goodness. It’s the ideal dip to complement the soft, salty bite of freshly baked pretzels.

Ingredients
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup whole milk (or half-and-half for a creamier texture)
1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (for extra creaminess)
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
1/4 teaspoon mustard powder (optional, for tanginess)
Salt and black pepper to taste
A pinch of cayenne pepper (optional, for a little kick)

Instructions
1. Make the Roux:
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Once melted, add the flour and whisk continuously for about 1-2 minutes. This forms a roux, which helps thicken the dip.
2. Add the Milk:
Gradually add the milk, whisking constantly to avoid lumps. Continue to whisk until the mixture begins to thicken, which should take about 3-5 minutes.
